Frequently Asked Questions

OPERATORS

How do I change my current entry on CarBootJunction.com?
If you would like to change any of the details of your current listing, simply email us at enquiries@carbootjunction.com, confirming your operator name, the name of the car boot sale you wish to change and the details you would like amended.  We hope to add functionality for operators to change their own details in the next release (Summer 2008).

How do I add a photograph to my listing?
Send your photograph in jpeg format to enquiries@carbootjunction.com, confirming your operator name and the carboot sale in the image.  We reserve the right to edit the image (e.g. cropping and colour enhancement) to improve the image quality for the site and to ensure it does not take too long to load for our users.

I do not intend to continue running my car boot sale.  How can I delete my entry?
If you would like to delete your car boot sale entry email us at enquiries@carbootjunction.com, confirming your operator name, the name of the car boot sale and the date of your last sale.  We will notify users of the last sale date and keep the listing live until the final sale.  It will then be removed in the following update.

How much does it cost to list my car boot sale on CarBootJunction.com?
We make no charges for listing car boot sales on this website.  It is possible that we may introduce fees for enhanced services at a later time, but we will not be reducing the services currently offered for free.  In fact we are likely to be adding to them.

BUYERS & SELLERS
Please can you tell me what time your boot sale starts and how to get there?
Remarkably this is the most common question we are asked!  We don't run any car boot sales ourselves (perhaps we should Smiley).  The listings contained within this site have been submitted by third party operators with whom we do not have a direct relationship other than acting as an advertising portal for their events.  If you have any questions relating to the carboots listed in www.carbootjunction.com we recommend that you contact the operators direct.

Why are there no listings for a car boot in my local area?
It might be that there simply aren't any, but that would be unusual these days.  Chances are that there are some but neither the users or the operators have told us about them yet.  If you are aware of a boot sale local to you which is not listed please tell us, either by completing the form found at http://www.carbootjunction.com/add-car-boot.php or by emailing us at enquiries@carbootjunction.com and providing as much information as you can.

I am interested in attending a boot sale listed on Car Boot Junction and would like more information, but there is no contact information listed.  Please can you provide?
We are sorry, but if there is no contact information contained in a listing it means that either we have not been given any (quite common when we are told about a boot sale by a member of the public) or that the operator has elected not to display it, in which case we are prevented by the Data Protection Act from passing it on.  We are looking at the possibility of making it compulsory for operators to list contact information if they wish to be listed in our database.  In the meantime we can only suggest you ask around in the local area e.g. post offices, local coucils etc.
